A cold-day ritual: warm tea instead of the third coffee
When it is cold, swap the third coffee for warm caffeine-free tea (rooibos, herbal), hold the cup in both hands and drink without hurrying. A cup of filter coffee has 80–107 mg; rooibos has no caffeine.
What you need
- Rooibos or herbal tea
- A big cup
- A spot by the window or a warm corner
How to make it
- Brew a larger cup than usual.
- Add a cinnamon stick, lemon peel or honey if you like.
- Sit and drink without your phone; the warmth of the cup is part of the ritual.
- Repeat at the same time, for example after lunch.
How much caffeine
Rooibos has no caffeine and most herbal teas do not either, but not all: check the pack. Filter coffee 80–107 mg, black tea 14–48 mg.
Tips
- We do not claim tea will warm or heal you: this is a warm-drink pause idea.
- For a warm drink with milk try rooibos latte.
